Summary:

The purpose of this study was to raise awareness of how IPV operates within female same-gender relationships.  Findings can serve to inform helping professionals about working within lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, plus various additional sexual minorities’ communities and survivors of  same-gender violence.

Differences Between Sexual and Nonsexual Homicides of Women in the United States: Findings from the National Violent Death Reporting System Brown, N.F. DeV., & Watson, A.E.N. (2022).

Summary:

This study examined data on female homicides.  Findings highlight important differences between sexual and non-sexual homicides. SH victims were more likely to be single, have a substance abuse problem or engaged in prostitution. SH suspects were more likely to be male, use an illicit substance in the preceding hours, or had recent contact with police. SH was more likely to occur in a hotel/motel, by asphyxiation, be perpetrated against an acquaintance, or be precipitated by another serious crime.

Summary:

This study examined a adults who had legally purchased a handgun in 2001 and followed them through 2013. The study compared adult gun purchasers who had no criminal history at the time of purchase to those with a history of only IPV charges.  Those with a criminal history were at increased risk of subsequent arrest for a violent (i.e., murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault; or an IPV crime).

This review synthesized existing knowledge based on IPV and mental health outcomes among Hispanic women.  Findings identified a need to examine mental health outcomes understudied in relation to IPV among Hispanic women.

This study examined the relationship between DNA evidence and outcomes of prosecution of sexual assault. Results suggest DNA evidence contributes to case progression but also is a result of it.
